polyurethane, diverse formats

In the series of sculptures made of black, rubber-like polyurethane, Fischli and Weiss assemble incidental objects that have great significance in everyday life. Three cupboards were cast in negatives made of particleboard coated with synthetic resin. Profiles were either glued onto the negative with strips of silicon or milled. Details such as the cardboard back panels typical of cheap furniture were molded in silicon and inserted into the assembled negative. For stabilization, the sculptures contain a core of foam glass.
