Drinking Fountain, 2017

Tombak cast of a hole in the ground, sensor, waterworks

For the drinking fountain, which is only activated by accident by means of the right step, a hole was dug in the gravel on site and molded with silicon. In St.Gallen, the “hole” was cast in bronze in the classic lost wax technique based on the negative mold. The patina in the colors of the gravel makes the bronze component completely disappear in the gravel-covered surface in front of the pavilion. The built-in sensor only activates the jet of water, which shoots up from the ground to mouth-height, when someone steps on it.
