Wounded Man, 2017

Assembled cast bronze objects, waterworks

Wounded Man is based on a drawing of medieval torture methods that Farmer wanted to add to a grandfather clock. He collected all the individual elements—including, for instance, grandfather clock, broom, axe, wheel, mushroom—from antique shops and farms in St.Gallen. The completely installed collection of objects was scanned as individual components and printed in PMMA with the 3D printer. Through directly burning out these PMMA models, the objects were cast in bronze and then put together, chased, and patinated. A complex pump system was also installed inside this work, thus transforming it into a water-spouting figure.
