Und sie dreht sich doch, 1999

Chromium-nickel steel, 150 × 120 × 120 cm

In 1999, Thomas Stricker realized the work Und sie dreht sich doch based a competition design for the Heilpädagogische Schule Flawil (school of therapeutic pedagogy). It imagines a celestial body that has landed in a tree. A sculpture was placed in the crown of a young chestnut tree so that it appears to have gradually grown into and become supported by the tree. The form is designed to conform to the growth of the branches. A ceramic negative was produced in order to cast the form in chromium-nickel steel.
